It’s not long now until Yorkshire True Grit Dark Skies 2019. Once again this event forms part of the North York Moors National Park, and Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Dark Skies Festival.
This year we have extended the entries from 50 to 100 – and we’re looking forward to seeing some new faces along on the event. If you’ve not been before, you’ll notice it’s pretty low-key – though this year we are being joined by Rosa and The Rolling Scone van and she’ll be there for you to purchase coffee / tea / hot chocolate from, pre-ride. Aside from that, there’s not much else at the Event HQ – some loos, our marquee and a field to park in.
The Event HQ will be open from 11am – this gives us and you plenty of time to get your kit checked (mandatory) and get your event number on your bike and signed in. You must have all the kit – no kit = no ride. We really can’t emphasise that enough. It is for your safety that you have to carry the kit, so please think about what you need well before you arrive, and try carrying it on your bike! The Kit List is on the website in the Dark Skies Event information.
We’re adding in some products into our Grit Shop too that might make carrying all that kit easier.
There are some places left for Dark Skies – so if you’re thinking that 50 miles of adventure will really spice up February then get your entry in!
